Option A: 1-Click CloudFormation (Recommended)

  1. Log into AWS and open CloudFormation.
  2. Click Create stack → With new resources (standard).
  3. Choose Upload a template file, select the downloaded YAML, and click Next.
  4. Type a Stack Name and enter a secure password in the ExternalId field.
  5. Check the IAM capability box and click Submit.
  6. Copy the RoleARN from the Outputs tab.

Option B: Manual IAM Role Creation

  1. Go to IAM in AWS Console → Roles → Create Role.
  2. Select AWS account and choose Another AWS account.
  3. Enter Account ID: YOUR_12_DIGIT_ID and check Require external ID (enter a secure password).
  4. Click Next. Create a policy allowing ec2:Describe* on all resources.
  5. Name the role and create it, then copy the Role ARN.
Step 2: Run Scan

Why this is 100% Safe

  • Strictly Read-Only Access

The CloudFormation template only grants ec2:Describe* permissions. Our system physically cannot modify infrastructure, view S3 objects, or access databases.

  • Zero Data Retention

Your resource IDs are processed in memory, formatted into your PDF report, and immediately destroyed.

  • You Control the Deletion

Our backend never deletes anything. You receive a standard Bash script (cleanup.sh) that you review and execute from your own secure terminal.
